A Skin for the leading VLC Media & Streaming Player. The Skin comes with german and english language switcher. Some Features from the Preview image are not supported yet, by the default skin engine shipped with the player. If a feature comes available to the skin engine, i "activate" it in the skin and provide an update.

The skin works with VLC 1.0 and above, but not all features are available to low versions. Skin is now ready for VLC 2.0.3 - the fullscreen controller then works like the native one

You always get the latest version from here, as i replace the files until a new version has released. In addition, you can download the latest version from [link] too.

Installation:

Extract the .zip archive. Start your VLC Player and click "Settings" --> "General-Tab". Click on the "Use a custom Skin" radio button and select the .vlt file that you have extracted. Press OK and restart the player.

Hint: For the Fullscreen-Controller, you have to press i or the middle mouse button. (In VLC 1.2, you donīt anymore)

Hint2: To toggle the language, klick on the English Flag / language button.

Hint3: Some buttons in the Preview only appear in special situations; when you play a DVD, DVD controls appear, also the screenshot button only works when you play a media (i think you wonīt make screens of the player without playing anything :))

As it is always nice to hear positive feedback, i also like to know, if you dislike something, have a suggestion or just critique.

Edit: WoW, wondering where all thoose comments came from within that short time. Watching the deviation for myself, and saw a daily deviation was given. Thank you very much, this highly inspires me, to furhter contribute this skin and other art, too.

there are not many vlc skins around for download, but Advantage.VLC:Sky Theme by ~Spyme is certainly one of the most beautiful, streamlined and functional skins you can get for the wellknown opensource video player. perfectly executed, well coded and fun to utilize.

Thank you. For sure im updating work that i have created. Currently, the Skin has allready more features as the VLC Player allows. So if you try the VLC 1.2 dev branch, you will experience new stuff :)

Thank you. No i don't plan a skin for aimp3 (instead i never heared of them), but think about some new "native" VLC concepts with QT4.

We want more! Seriously man, great work. Would love to see some different colorations, maybe something dark to go with Ubuntu's main gnome theme. We need more vlc skinners like you.

Thanks for comment. I got a lot of ideas for VLC Skins and the UI. There is also a "color switcher" in my test build, but yet, the skins engine donīt allow me to bring them live. There are a few performance issues that prevent some nice gimmicks (and also the "filling time bar" of the preview) to see the bright light.

spy - your right - eventhough, vlc mp is one of the better players - is very odd that there aren't more skins - very odd !!
